Kate Garraway is taking her own life “day by day” after her husband Derek Draper was re-admitted to hospital as he continues to battle horrendous Covid debt.
The Good Morning Britain host, 55, has been very open about the couple’s struggles since he fell ill in March 2020.
And while Kate admits she is exhausted, she is trying to stay positive, looking forward to the time when Derek can return home to be with his family again after missing out on his 16-year-old daughter Darcy, who was going at prom.

Kate, who is also mum to son Billy, 12, with Derek, added that she was trying to “embrace” life after their family struggled for the past two-and-a-half years after Derek fell ill.
She said she showed her partner pictures of Darcy in her prom dress and that he could now press the button on the phone to FaceTime her.
Kate confirmed on Wednesday this week that Derek, who has required round-the-clock care since contracting the coronavirus in March 2020, had returned to a medical facility, insisting he was ‘OK’.

She told The Sun: “He’s fine, he’s actually back in hospital so that’s a development. Here we are.’
Kate admitted that the couple’s two children have been “amazing” in supporting their father.
Speaking at the TRIC Awards at Grosvenor House in London, she said: “They were amazing – all the way through.”
Derek spent over a year in hospital before returning home in April 2021, but he continued to battle the effects of Covid after the virus ravaged his body.
Earlier this week, Kate thanked fans for their help after she was reunited with her husband’s medication after it was left in a taxi.

The TV host originally tweeted a post to Black Cab Lost Property, writing: “@BC_Lostproperty help!! I just brought Derek home in a black cab from the hospital for a weekend visit and left a box of all his meds and kit out front! (sic)’
She then added: ‘The driver recognized me but may not know it’s there – please look contact – urgently needed!! (sic)’
Kate was inundated with offers of help, including from one follower who said she knew the driver.
They wrote in a message to Kate: “I know the driver Kate as he mentioned taking you and your husband to my place tonight. I’m trying to connect right now.
The next day, the star returned to the social media site to confirm that the lost medication had been found and returned to her.
She wrote: “It’s back! Thanks to everyone who reached out – the message got through to the lovely driver Robert who returned it – ugh and thanks to everyone. #happyweekend everyone.’
Kate recently admitted she hopes to take Derek to Buckingham Palace to receive his MBE.
She said: “However, I feel there is room for celebration and I hope that if we do end up having a ceremony, Derek will be further along in his recovery and we can go together. It would be great.
“When you almost lose someone, it certainly brings everything into focus.
“In many ways we are still learning who we are as husband and wife as so much has changed.
“It’s the same for children – they have to relearn the experience of being with their father. And of course, the biggest learning is for poor Derek.
