Kevin Durant’s request to be traded by the Brooklyn Nets has sent the NBA offseason into a spin.
While the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat are reportedly the two main teams Durant would be most interested in being traded to, the Nets are under no obligation to send him wherever he wants. Brooklyn reportedly wants to get the most assets out of any potential deal given Durant’s ability on the basketball court and the fact that he has three years left on his current contract.

One of those teams that “has interest” in Durant is the Golden State Warriors, according to Andscape.
Mark J. Spears, who reported the Warriors’ interest, spoke on ESPN Radio about Golden State making a bid for Durant.
“The one team I’m telling you to keep an eye on is the Golden State Warriors. Golden State might have the best package for both sides. Jordan Poole, Jonathan Cuminga, All-Star Andrew Wiggins, former No. 2 pick James Wiseman,” Spears said. “What the Nets want is a young All-Star and they want maybe a future All-Star. All are under 30. They also want elections, perhaps the opportunity to trade elections. But if you can get those four players, if I I’m the Nets, I’m very, very happy.
“For Kevin Durant, the Warriors — they’re very familiar [Durant] and vice versa. He knows where to live in San Francisco. He knows how the offense works. He knows he can win a championship there. Yes, Steve Kerr will probably have some things to figure out. But every day that this goes on, I hear that the Warriors have interest from a young person’s standpoint, from the standpoint of people being happy on both sides. For me, the Golden State option is the best option.”

KEVIN DURANT TRADE RUMORS: SUN, HEAT MENTIONED AS DESTINATIONS, LAKERS ALSO ‘WAILED’
Durant and the Warriors won two championships together. He would run for the Nets after the 2019 NBA Finals in which he tore his Achilles. Brooklyn gave him plenty of time to recover.
What might it take to get Durant from the Nets? The Athletic reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves “made several calls” to the Nets to see what they wanted from Durant.
Brooklyn is reportedly looking for “established All-Stars and a mountain of picks.” The Timberwolves didn’t want to part with Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns. The team later acquired Rudy Gobert in a massive trade.

Durant sent out a cryptic tweet on Saturday regarding trade rumors.
“Those who have been locked in that gym with me know what it’s like, know what I’m all about,” he wrote. “If you haven’t been there with me, ask around.”

He later deleted it.
