Everton manager Frank Lampard has added Tottenham Hotspur centre-half Joe Roden to his “short list”, according to reports.
The Wales international played just ten times for his club last term. He made one start and was an unused substitute 29 times in the Premier League.
Spurs are competent in their transfer business and this all seems very unusual
With game time at a premium under Antonio Conte, a move this summer could be on the cards.
According to Alex Crook, Everton are interested in Rodon’s signature, with Lampard “very interested” in Harry Winks, while the Welshman is on the former Chelsea manager’s “short list”.
Crook said on talkSPORT (quotes via Football London): “In terms of Everton, a really interesting relationship between Everton and Tottenham. Daniel Levy and Bill Kenwright were actually spotted dining at a London restaurant on Monday night, and I’m sure Richardson and Anthony Gordon’s name came up in conversation.
“For our part, we know Frank Lampard is quite keen on at least one Tottenham player in Harry Winks, maybe two as I’m told Joe Roden is also on Lampard’s shortlist this summer, so there could be some sort of deal for exchange.
Nottingham Forest are also reportedly keen on signing Rodon, as well as Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
Meanwhile, Everton and Spurs have reached a “full agreement” over the transfer of Brazilian striker Richarlison, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist wrote on Twitter: “Chelsea attempted to hijack the Richarlison deal ahead of the £60m deal between Everton and Tottenham this morning.
“Spurs are in full agreement with both EFC and Richarlison on personal terms. I’m just waiting for the medical in Brazil and the player’s signature.”
Richarlison has grabbed six goals and two assists in his last ten Premier League games in 2021/22.
The Brazil international will be Spurs’ fourth signing of the summer following the captures of Yves Bissuma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.
They have also been linked with Middlesbrough right-back Jed Spence, who spent last season on loan with Nottingham Forest.
