Zelensky rejects the host’s suggestion that Trump would have stopped the Russian invasion
Russia called the flight bans that prevented its foreign minister from heading to Serbia “hostile.”
A Kremlin spokesman said such actions could lead to problems with the schedule of high-level diplomatic meetings after Sergei Lavrov was forced to cancel his visit.
The foreign minister said: “If the Russian foreign minister’s visit to Serbia is seen in the West as approaching a global threat, then things in the West are clearly quite bad.
He said he would instead invite his Serbian counterpart to visit him in Moscow, adding: “The main thing is that no one will be able to destroy our relations with Serbia.”
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom is stepping up arms supplies to Ukraine with long-range missile launchers to boost resistance in the eastern Donbass region.
On the ground Kyiv was hit by its first missiles in a month and intense fighting continues in Severodonetsk, the main battlefield to the east.

Russia calls Lavrov’s flight bans “hostile”
The Kremlin said the closure of the airspace of three Eastern European countries, which prevented his foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, from traveling to Serbia, was a “hostile act”.
Countries around Serbia – Bulgaria, northern Macedonia and Montenegro – closed their airspace to an official plane carrying Moscow’s top diplomat to Belgrade on Monday.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that such actions could lead to problems with the schedule of high-level diplomatic meetings. But they will not prevent Moscow from maintaining contacts with friendly countries, he said.

The UK’s defense minister says arms supplies will help Ukraine “better defend itself”.
Here is what UK Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace said about the latest arms shipment:
“The United Kingdom is at odds with Ukraine in this battle and is taking the lead in supplying its heroic forces with the vital weapons they need to defend their country from unprovoked invasion. If the international community continues to support, I believe that Ukraine can win.
“By changing Russia’s tactics, our support for Ukraine must change. These highly capable volley-launched missile systems will allow our Ukrainian friends to better defend themselves against the brutal use of long-range artillery used by Putin’s forces indiscriminately to level cities.
