Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil for their reunion in ‘Jurasic’

GOLDBLUM God, I didn’t know you had such a strong feeling for me!

NIL I found him a little discouraging, but the great thing about Jeff is that he’s also a nice fool. And so I fell in love with both of them from day one.

How did your life change when Jurassic Park became the highest-grossing film ever made?

GOLDBLUM I’m not focused on trading all this – I still consider myself a modest student of the creative endeavor – but I remember the first weekend was exciting. Sometimes I do great things that I think are noticeable and I will tell you that a week will pass and it seems like it never happened. I don’t get a single call. This often happens, you will be surprised.

NEIL One day, Bruce Dern [Laura’s father] came to my house to go up [her] and he took me aside and patted me on the shoulder. He said, “Son, you know what? Here you have a ticket for food for life. ” Now, maybe that’s right. I haven’t stopped working since.

DERN You hope that if such a moment occurs, your Richter scale will not shift on how you measure what you want to do. I remember Jeff reading the script and saying, “You have to do this after Jurassic Park,” and it was Citizen Ruth. I could go back and do something like the girl in the action movie, but it takes an amazing artist to say, “Don’t do the obvious. Do what you love and be brave. ”

GOLDBLUM Over the decades, this has changed my life significantly. I’m a different person than I ever would have been, because I worked on this first film and especially with these guys – I’m much, much better. And all the people I meet by chance who have been excited, touched, delighted, amused and excited about all things, Jurassic, that’s a big deal.
