List of Daily Emmy 2022 winners

General Hospital was the big winner on Friday night at the 49-year-old Emmy, winning five awards – including a daily drama – as the TV show returned to a live event, in person. The news of the day – Roe’s repeal of Wade and the attack on women’s rights by a fraudulent Supreme Court – threatens to overshadow the event. But the two-hour TV show, hosted by Entertainment Tonight hosts Kevin Fraser and Michelle Turner for the first time, began without a problem at the Pasadena Convention Center.

General Hospital’s daily Emmy Awards also include a supporting role, supporting actress, young performer and director.

Meanwhile, the Kelly Clarkson Show was a multiple winner as the best entertainment talk show, bringing the total for two weekends to seven – the most from any program this year. And Entertainment Tonight was again the winner of the entertainment news program.

Among the big wins, Young & Restless star Mishael Morgan went down in history as the first black winner in the lead actress category. “We break glass ceilings on the left, right and center,” Morgan said. “We can and will do this thing, called equality and unity, together.

Also, “Jeopardy” continued its series as the best winner of the game show, despite the turbulent last year of the show, in which executive producer Mike Richards, who was named host of the show as the successor of Alex Trebeck, was fired a week later due to previous comments and controversial actions.

“The scandal was, as we call it in ‘Jeopardy!’, The ‘awkward months,'” executive producer Michael Davis said behind the scenes. “But it showed the strength of our audience and how passionately our fans care about the program, which is so important. What happened during the season – Matt Amodio, Amy Schneider and Matea [Roach] and Ryan [Long] – really made us just remember how amazing the game is. The stars of our show and Mayim [Bialik] and Ken [Jennings] they did an amazing job as hosting. ”

Davis added: “We hope to have a hosting announcement very, very soon. But with all our plans for “Jeopardy!” – which is more “Jeopardy!”, No less, more versions – we will need many hosts to represent the whole audience, to represent the whole country, to continue this franchise . “

Earlier, the 49th Annual Emmy Awards for Daily Creative Arts and Lifestyle took place on June 18 at the Pasadena Convention Center. Kelly Clarkson won five awards, while City of Penguins was next with three. Beyond the syndicate (by 10), Netflix was the big single winner on the web, bringing together a total of nine, divided between “Penguin Town”, “Cat People”, “Headspace: Guide to Meditation” and “You Vs. Wild: Out Cold. CBS and PBS follow, with three each.

It should also be noted that during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the final season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show received the Daily Emmy for Outstanding Writing Team for a Daily Non-Fiction Program. And in its first season, Judy Judge Shendlin’s new series “Judy Justice” for IMDbTV (now Amazon Freevee) won a legal / court program. (He also introduced the first-ever Daily Emmy for IMDbTV / Freevee.)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show in 2020 was virtual and filmed in the homes of the presenter, presenters and winners. A pre-booked event with a reduced size was organized at Burbank last year.

Overall this year, CBS’s “Young and Troubled” received the most Daily Emmy nominations with 18, followed closely by ABC’s “General Hospital” with 17. Among the outlets, the highest level of tickets was won by syndicated tickets with 48 nods for different broadcasters, followed by two top-ranked broadcasters: ABC and CBS, both with 31. (Netflix was next with 27.)

Among other key highlights this year: the Daily Drama category – which has been shrinking since TV networks cut production – has expanded to five nominees for the first time since 2014, thanks to the addition of the “Days of Our Lives” spin-off “Beyond Salem “.
