A large fire broke out in a building on a busy Derby road this morning. Six fire crews are on the scene of the London Road accident, and two platforms with air ladders are also present at the fire, which was confirmed for the first time at 5.30 am on Sunday morning (June 12).
The road is closed between the intersection with Ascot Drive and Rainsway, while firefighters are working to extinguish the fire and people are advised to avoid the area. The fire appears to be affecting the Navigation Tire Service car garage.
In a Twitter update at 5:30 a.m., the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “@DerbyshireFRS is currently dealing with a major fire on London Road in the Wilmorton area. We have 6 devices and 2 platforms for air stairs. The road is closed, please avoid the area. “
The Inrix Traffic Information Service added: “A6 London Road closed in both directions between A5194 London Road and A5111 Raynesway.”
So far there is no information about the circumstances of the fire.
