Liverpool are outraged by the constant stream of false allegations promoted by the French government and have promised to prove how badly they treated their fans in the Champions League final.

Liverpool’s chief executive Billy Hogan has been in contact with Florentino Perez, his Real Madrid counterpart, to compare the stories of what happened to supporters outside the Stade de France before and after Saturday’s match.

Videos of fans being crushed and robbed by local youths have surfaced, with eyewitness accounts telling the gangs numbering about 1,000. However, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin continues to say that Liverpool fans are responsible for the riot.

They said 40,000 fake tickets were in circulation, although official figures showed only 2,589 had been scanned.

French President Emmanuel Macron is said to be outraged by Darmanin’s response

An incredulous Hogan said: “As I said earlier in the week, honestly, it’s just a matter of mistrust. People probably know that yesterday’s Senate committee meeting was three o’clock, so there’s still a long way to go.

“But overall, given the body of evidence through videos, photos, personal experiences – and that’s not just from Liverpool fans, but from all the fans who attended the game; media; English politicians; people who traveled from literally all over the world to attend this match – which people have already seen on social media and other media channels. It’s just complete distrust.

Regarding the allegations that there are a huge number of fans without tickets, Hogan added: the details.

“I said this earlier in the week, people are talking about details that have not been shared.

“We have not had the opportunity to conduct this open investigation. And I just don’t think it’s appropriate for people to make accusations until we get all the facts.

Hogan says they are in “disbelief and wants an” open and transparent investigation “
