Champions League final: Tear gas was used after the match

Former Liverpool star Jason McAthier was visibly emotional when he shared details about his wife’s and son’s experience in the Champions League final.

Liverpool lost to Real Madrid at the Stade de France, but the experience was overshadowed by events outside the stadium before and after the match. Fans were engulfed in tear gas by police as they waited to enter the stadium, the start of which was delayed by 36 minutes, while there were reports of supporters being attacked as they left the pitch in Saint-Denis.

Reds left-back Andy Robertson strikes against part of the organization, while Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois shared his concerns about the English club’s supporters. Meanwhile, Liverpool themselves have issued a statement requesting an investigation into the events, and MacArthur’s experience is far from isolated.

Liverpool fans must stand after unforgivable scenes and the last nightmare in Paris, chaos in the Champions League final: UEFA’s horrific, arrogant lies should not see fans take the blame

“My wife was robbed, which was sad,” McAthier told LFC TV. “My eldest boy was attacked. You don’t have to go to a football game and deal with it. It’s wrong. It’s upsetting, it’s scary.”

The 50-year-old footballer made the same comments on social media, calling directly on UEFA. “@UEFAcom is very responsible, as are the stewards and the French police,” he wrote. “I hope everyone gets out of this nasty show safely.”

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique shared his support for MacArthir after reading about the experience of the former Irish national. “I’m so sorry to hear that amigo. “Let’s see if they take the blame for UEFA,” the Spaniard wrote.

“Still blaming @UEFA fans?” Jose Enrique tweeted. “I will tweet every news I get about it until you say something @UEFA. The easy thing is to blame someone else, huh? Take the blame and responsibility for this @UEFA. “

The 36-year-old footballer also shared a video of fans who were in tears at the end of the match. Any excuse for that? Are the fans wrong again? ”He asked

“[The Champions League final] is one of the best events on the planet and fans pay a fortune to be there and support their teams and treat themselves that way. Shameful. #justice. “

Following the events in and around the Stade de France, the UK government also called for an investigation. Merseyside police praised the behavior of Liverpool fans, while many in the United Kingdom asked questions to the authorities in Paris.

“The footage and stories of Liverpool fans and the media as they enter the Stade de France last night are deeply disturbing,” said British Culture Secretary Nadine Doris. “Thousands of ticket holders traveled to Paris in time to support their team in the biggest match of the season.

“I call on UEFA to launch a formal investigation into what went wrong and why, in coordination with the stadium staff, the French police, the Frances de Football, the Merseyside police and the Liverpool Football Club. It is in the interest of all involved to understand what happened and to learn from these events. ”
