Suspected machete-wielding attacker arrested after rampage in Liverpool.
Several people were taken to hospital with cuts after attacks near Anfield stadium.
Police were called after receiving reports of someone shouting at people and waving a weapon around, which witnesses described as a machete.
A man from the area was taken into custody shortly afterwards in nearby Stanley Park and is being questioned by detectives.
Police believe the suspect has mental health issues and are ruling out a terrorism-related motive at this stage.
All those injured are expected to make a full recovery.
Detective Chief Inspector Kat Cummings said: “This incident will be frightening for both those attacked and those who witnessed it and we will give them our full support.

I understand that the circumstances will be frightening for the wider Anfield community as well.
“Fortunately, specialist officers responded quickly, arrested a suspect and brought the incident to an end and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
“While we do not believe anyone else is responsible, additional officers will be deployed on high visibility patrols in the Anfield area over the coming days to reassure the community.”
