Liverpool’s Premier League matches 2022-23
There may be a new person in the hot spot, but this is very common when it comes to Liverpool and their transfer deals.
During his 11-year stay at Anfield, Michael Edwards’ insight in the market earned him a reputation as one of the most astute operators in world football. It may come as no surprise, then, that there was a tremor when his departure was announced.
After all, under his guise as Liverpool’s sporting director, Edwards helped oversee the transformation in which the Reds regained their place right at the top of European football. His list of transfer hits is astonishing, including oversaturation with players who are already considered great at Anfield.
But perhaps his ability to continue to bring quality while keeping their net costs low has helped most build Edwards’ knowledge. Filipe Coutinho and Luis Suarez were the hit departures, but it was the deals that went under the radar that became more and more important for the whole operation.
Jurgen Klopp trusts the Liverpool quartet as the Reds make a plan for Jude Bellingham. Manchester United can sign a former transfer target for Liverpool, which can thrive under the leadership of Eric ten Haag
Danny Ward had just three appearances on the first team when he was sent to Leicester City for a staggering £ 12.5 million. Dominic Solanke found the net only once before Bournemouth sanctioned a £ 19million bid, and Ryan Brewster contributed £ 23.5m, for a player who has not looked standard in the Premier League since.
And his successor, Julian Ward, is now proving that he learned more than one or two from his old boss. After watching the deals for Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunes, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey during his early term, it is now a matter of getting the players out of the door.
Sadio Mane seems likely to be the first, with his Bayern Munich medical specialist expected to be enrolled on Tuesday ahead of a £ 35.1 million move. But once that is over, Ward will have a chance to significantly increase Kop’s coffers with side-by-side players.
Liverpool want £ 15 million for Neco Williams from Nottingham Forest
The Telegraph reported that Liverpool have imposed a price of £ 15 million on Neco Williams, as the newly appointed Nottingham Forest sniffed around the defender. Williams spent last season on loan and reports now say that every outing this summer will be permanent – and at a significant cost to all stakeholders.
Nathaniel Phillips is another defender who is unlikely to ever become a regular starter at Jürgen Klopp, but may receive a similar fee from Bournemouth after his promotion.
Takumi Minamino could also be sacrificed in the pursuit of financial parity and could receive up to £ 17 million from leading Monaco. The Japanese national scored 10 goals in all competitions, but admitted that he was disappointed with the lack of opportunities.

“As a player, I’ve never had a hard time in a game before,” he was quoted as saying by Japan’s SoccerDigest newspaper. ECHO. “But at the same time it is important for me to play an important match as a player and leave a result.
“I was told I had achieved the result, but I don’t think I did a great job. I just did the obvious thing and it was more frustrating. I can play a more important match and get the result. I want to be a player. ”
If Liverpool close these four exits, they will get back more than £ 80 million, more than enough to cover the initial fee paid to Benfica for signing Nunes earlier this month. And Ward would show that it was always the right choice to continue Edwards’ brilliant work.
