Earlier today, impatient Apple fans announced new Mac mini and “Mac mini tower” on the Apple Authorized Reseller B&H Photo website. Now, 9to5Mac has also dug up ads on the B&H Photo website for a new 14-inch MBook chip-powered MacBook Air, as well as a new entry-level MacBook Pro with M2.
New M2 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro coming to WWDC?
These ads were first discovered by an anonymous tipster and confirmed by 9to5Mac. In addition to the announcements for the Mac mini and “Mac mini tower” that appeared this morning, the B&H website now includes ads for the 14-inch M2 MacBook Air, as well as a new version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip.
As we explained this morning, it is crucial to be skeptical of these product lists. Retailers often prepare product lists for products, even when they are still being talked about. However, given this, the weather here is interesting. The new MacBook Air and the new 13-inch MacBook Pro are rumored to be on the cards for WWDC 2022.
Rumors of the two new machines have been circulating for more than six months. However, Apple faced a number of supply chain problems that delayed the launch of the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
The new MacBook Air is said to have an updated design that takes signals from the M1 iMac. According to recent reports, it will be available in space gray, silver, gold and a new navy blue option similar to the iMac.
Meanwhile, it is rumored that the new 13-inch MacBook Pro will drop the Touch Bar and offer faster performance thanks to the M2 chip. It is below the higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, which offer additional features such as faster performance and better screen technology.
The M2 chip in the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air (and all other M2 machines, such as the Mac mini) is expected to include an octa-core processor (four performance cores and four performance cores), but this time with a more powerful 10-core graphics processor .
Apple has promised WWDC 2020 that the transition to Apple Silicon will be completed in two years. As of today, the only Mac without an Apple Silicon model available is the Mac Pro.
Can WWDC mark the introduction of the new Mac Pro alongside the first M2 Macs? We will know for sure in a little less than 18 hours … place your bets in the comments below.
