A 32-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly crashed into an RCMP vehicle before fleeing from police.
East Hants District RCMP responded to a report of a man drinking in a parked vehicle in Elmsdale, NS, around 12:30 a.m. Friday.
Upon arrival, police said they found the man in a vehicle that had fled when officers approached.
A short time later, the man was found again on a nearby country road. Police say he was seen driving the vehicle in circles on the roadway and allegedly drove backwards down the road, intentionally hitting an RCMP vehicle before fleeing.
The officers did not pursue the vehicle.

Police learned the vehicle was reported stolen from Truro, NS, on Tuesday.
Around 9:15 a.m. Saturday, police received reports of a man walking on the side of the road on Highway 354 near Rawdon. Police said the man was taken into custody without incident. There are no reports of injuries as a result of the incident.
Christopher Wade Ross is accused of:
- possession of property obtained by crime
- unsafe operation of a vehicle
- escape from the police
Ross remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on Monday.
