A woman was indiscriminately slashed by a knife-wielding man as she walked down a Midtown street Sunday, police said.
The 59-year-old victim was stabbed in the right arm by the man who snuck up behind her on Seventh Avenue near West 42nd Street in an unprovoked attack around 10 a.m., according to cops.
Dramatic video released by NYPD shows the suspect a few feet behind the woman as she pulls a shopping cart down the block.
He raised the blade in the air, his hand reaching towards the sky, before suddenly lunging at the woman and slicing the blade across her right arm.
The man didn’t say a word before stabbing the woman in the arm, police said.
The woman was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the suspect fled eastbound on East 42nd Street before cops arrived.
