Man in hospital after violent brawl in Alexandra Park

Toronto police say a man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after an altercation in the city center on Tuesday night.

Police said the incident happened in Alexandra Park in the area of ​​Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West at 9:20 p.m.

A man suffered a serious injury to his shin and walked up Bathurst Street where he passed out and was found by paramedics.

Paramedics transported the man to hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.

Police initially described the incident as a stabbing, but said it was not yet clear exactly how the man was injured.

There is no information on suspects at this time.

Police said they have closed the northbound and southbound lanes of Bathurst Street due to the investigation.
