Manchester United have made initial contact with Christian Eriksen about a potential move this summer.
Eriksen will be available as a free agent when his Brentford contract expires later this month, and United’s new manager Eric ten Haag is a big fan of the Danish national team.
According to Sky Sports, United are eager to sign Eriksen, and Brentford and West Ham are also interested.

Other clubs following Eriksen include Leicester, his old club Ajax and an unknown Spanish team. Tottenham have not yet returned with an offer after talks two weeks ago, although they have focused on trying to attract another striker.
After a grim campaign in which United finished sixth in the Premier League, it is clear that Old Trafford needs a major overhaul.
There has been no transfer activity so far, but ten Hague wants to add to his team, with Eriksen being one of his main goals along with Barcelona midfielder Frankie de Jong. Both De Jong and Eriksen understand the way Ten Hag wants his team to play.
Eriksen has made a big impact for Brentford after joining in January on a short-term contract after recovering from the cardiac arrest he received while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020 last year.

In eleven Premier League games for Brentford, Eriksen scored once and provided four assists, many of his overall performances being of a high standard.
Ten Haag was impressed with Eriksen when he trained with Ajax last season to build his form.
The experience of the 30-year-old Premier League player, most of whom came during his time at Tottenham, could be extremely useful for United.

United continue to negotiate with Barcelona for de Jong, who played under ten years for The Hague in Ajax and is considered key to United’s recovery.
There were many departures from United this summer, such as Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani and Juan Mata among those who left the club.
