David Nabaro, the WHO’s special envoy for COVID-19, told a television channel that people affected by COVID-19 could be “excluded for several months” given the long Covid.

Long Covid occurs when a person shows symptoms of the virus after the disease has subsided with a wide range of ongoing health problems, sometimes lasting months, according to the US CDC.
The CDC says that conditions after COVID occur mostly in people who have suffered from severe COVID-19 disease, but patients with mild disease or no symptoms of COVID-19 have been affected by long-term Covid.

People who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 and have become infected may also be at higher risk of developing conditions after COVID, the U.S. health agency has warned.
The United States classifies conditions after COVID as a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The CDC says there is no test to diagnose conditions after COVID, it can only be diagnosed when a person shows symptoms of health problems.
