Marquise Brown explains Ravens’ trade request, says Lamar Jackson was very aware of his situation

Like the off-season, the first round of the NFL 2022 draft was dominated by storylines around the wide receiver position. In the middle of the opening night, the Marquise Brown was handed out to the Arizona Cardinals, and AJ Brown was sent to the Philadelphia Eagles. The awning was a wide area that no one saw being moved, but he had obviously been unhappy for some time.

In an interview with SiriusXM Radio, Brown said he had asked Baltimore Ravens to change the situation and that Lamar Jackson was very aware of how he had felt over the past year.

“It was just my happiness,” Brown said. “I talked to Lamar about it after my sophomore year. And after my third year, until the end of the season, you know, he didn’t play. I informed him again, like, “Yes, brother, I can’t do that. You know, it’s not really for Lamar like I love Lamar. It’s just, you know, it’s just that the system wasn’t for me personally. You know, I love all my teammates. I love boys. But it was just something I had to think about. “

Brown said he did not want to enter the headlines with his request to trade and that he and the Ravens had handled the situation properly. It was such a well-kept secret that Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell took Brown to Arizona in time to take him on stage as soon as the trade was announced, according to NFL Media. In 2021, Brown caught a career-high 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns. Still, Baltimore’s attack focused on passing the ball, not passing through Brown or any of the other wide receivers.

Brown definitely fits better in the Arizona attack, plus he has a relationship with Kyler Murray. In 2018, Brown caught 75 passes for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns while playing with Murray in Oklahoma. This was to be one of the best destinations on Brown’s list.
