Martin McCutchen says she felt like she was “losing her mind” as she went through menopause.
The 46-year-old actress shared this week on her Instagram page to share a video about experiencing perimenopause and switching to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to help with her symptoms, which she describes as “game-changing”. .
Former EastEnders star Martin praised TV presenter Davina McCall for speaking publicly about her menopausal experience and thanked her doctor Naomi Potter.

On her HRT, she said: “It was a lot of changes in the game for me, there are still some adjustments and tweaks that I have to make.
“I was really so lucky to be guided by the power of nature, which is Davina, and Naomi Potter is a godsend for the women who go through this time.
“When we all lose our minds, this lady is calm, collected and so wise for the whole situation.”

This comes after former Big Brother presenter Davina said her severe menopausal symptoms made her feel like she had a “brain tumor or Alzheimer’s disease” after a TV mistake.
She told Sophie Raworth on BBC One this Sunday that her menopause had “aged” her and made her feel “ashamed” and “inappropriate”.
Davina, who recently wrote a book on the subject called Menopause, said the brain fog she experienced during perimenopause made her make a mistake.

She revealed that during a particularly vulnerable moment, she burst into tears, thinking she was suffering from a “brain tumor or Alzheimer’s or something.”
“During perimenopause, hormones go up and down, up and down, so you think you’re going crazy,” Davina said.
“I felt it made me old, I felt it would make me inappropriate, I felt uncomfortable because I always felt at the top of my game.
“I was on TV for 20 years then, I really knew what I was doing, I was extremely proud of my kind of list-making and my logistical practicality and the fact that I could do a lot of tasks,” she said.
But Davina revealed that her skills are hampered by menopause because she remembers making a mistake on television.
“Someone asked me if I was okay because I messed up a TV show, and I said yes, and when she closed the door and left, I just burst into tears,” she told Sophie.
“Because I thought, ‘I’m not well, I think I have a brain tumor, or I have Alzheimer’s or something, help me,'” she added.
