Mass shooting at a barbecue in San Antonio caused 2 dead and 5 injured

At least two people were killed and five others were injured in a mass shooting late Saturday in San Antonio, a local police chief said.

Seven people were shot dead around 10pm while a family was barbecuing in front of a house, while many children were inside, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus told reporters at a news conference.

McManus said an unspecified number of people passed by the house and “unloaded” between 20 and 30 rounds. Two of the victims are women and the other five are men; their ages range between 20 and mid-forties, he told reporters.

He also revealed that six children were inside the house during the shootings, but they were unharmed.

“Fortunately, they were not in front,” he said.

McManus said police did not have a description of the suspects and that there were “several theories” about the motive for the shooting, while warning that the investigation was early.

“So far, seven people have fired in front of the house on a barbecue, driving, several bullets fired, two killed, five wounded. Two females, five males “, he summed up. “Two men died.”
