Meet Me on Bernard will return to downtown Kelowna this summer with more to see and experience.
From the first day of July to September 5, Bernard Avenue will be turned into an outdoor pedestrian mall with live music, expanded courtyards, public art, local retail, street games, free programs and more.
Kelowna Center Association CEO Mark Burley is ready for what he would describe as a classic Kelowna summer, as Meet Me on Bernard quickly became a staple for the city at this time of year.
“This is the perfect way to support the recovery of downtown business while reconnecting with friends and family,” he said.
The mayor of Kelowna, Colin Basran, said it was exciting to see this event evolve from a temporary pandemic measure into a vibrant and energetic community platform that enlivens our public spaces.
“Whether you’re a business owner, an artist, a food lover, or just looking for great weather, Meet Me on Bernard has something for you this summer,” Basran said.
Meet Me on Bernard will be open seven days a week throughout the summer and will close access to traffic from the lanes to St. Paul Street.
Traffic will be suspended from June 27 as the city begins to adjust.
