The warning covers parts of England from midnight on Friday to midnight on Sunday.

A first-level warning covers parts of the North of England where the probability of heat wave conditions is 30 per cent, while there is a 40 per cent chance in the West Midlands.

Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Rudman said: “Temperatures will continue to rise as we go through the week, rising well above average until Friday, when many parts of the southern half of the UK are likely to exceed 30 ° C and may even reach 34 ° C in some places. “

Rain and thunderstorms are expected in Glastonbury

Visitors to the festival visiting Glastonbury can expect warm weather during the long weekend between June 24 and 26. However, the meteorological service also predicts possible precipitation and thunderstorms.

The forecaster said: “Temperatures will be average for most, but warmer in the south, and possible thunderstorms will bring potentially hot temperatures to the southern regions.

“The high pressure is likely to persist and move west during this period, leading to more turbulent and sometimes rainy conditions in the UK due to the northwest wind.

The heat in the UK is no reason to celebrate

Much of the UK’s breathless press reports that the nation is ready for “the hottest summer ever” with “at least five hot flashes” on the horizon.

Newspapers published photos of sunbathers in bikinis enjoying the sun, quoting James Madden, a weather forecaster for Exacta Weather, who said: “The general summer forecast now points to at least four or five major heat waves.

But what many of these joyous news reports do not mention is that these heat waves are a direct result of climate change – and can cause disease and death.

UKHSA and Met Office issue 2nd thermal health warning

The forecaster issued a level 2 hot health warning ahead of rising temperatures forecast for later this week.

In the four-step Warmth and Health Warning Scale, designed to help healthcare professionals cope with periods of extreme temperatures, Level 1 is the lowest warning and is the minimum alert state used during the summer months.

Level 2, called alert and alert, is triggered as soon as there is a 60% risk that temperature thresholds will be reached in one or more regions on at least two consecutive days and at night.

The RSPCA issues a warning

The RSPCA has issued a warning to pet owners about incoming heat.

Esme Wheeler, an RSPCA dog welfare specialist, said: “The truth is that walking dogs in hot weather can be a silent killer.

While most would never leave our dogs in a car on a hot day or even take their dogs for a really long walk in the heat, many people can still put their dogs at risk even for a short walk or take them to places like flights and beaches with little or no shade.

“We have long insisted that dogs die in hot cars, but this year we emphasize that dogs also die in hot walks. The message remains very simple – never leave a dog in a hot car because “not long” is too long, and when it comes to walking, “if in doubt, do not go out.”

RNLI issues a warning when temperatures rise

RNLI has warned people to be careful near water as the weather warms up this week.

Gabby Batcheler, RNLI’s Water Safety Education Manager, said: “With summer coming and the heat wave forecast, we want to remind everyone to stay safe on shore.

“It is important that everyone who visits the coast understands the risks to the environment. This can be very unpredictable, especially in early summer, when the risk of cold water shock increases significantly as air temperatures heat up but water temperatures remain dangerously low.

“If you get into trouble in the water, swim to live: lean back, using your arms and legs to stay afloat. Control your breathing, then call for help or swim safely. In a coastal emergency, call 999 or 112 for the Coast Guard.

RNLI also reminds people to visit a guarded beach and swim between the red and yellow flags this summer.

Gabby adds: “With the hot weather forecast, we know that many people will be heading ashore. To stay safe, we would encourage people to visit a guarded beach and swim between the red and yellow flags. It is important to remember to swim between these flags, because rescuers place them on the safest part of the water and patrol this area.
