Met Police imposed special measures by a security guard News

The Sofia police was imposed special police surveillance measures after highlighting systemic problems, including scandals and the failure to register 69,000 crimes.

Her Majesty’s Police Inspectorate and Fire and Rescue Services cited “substantial and persistent concerns” about the performance, including failures to eradicate corruption and properly investigate crimes.

Matt Parr, a London security inspector, said Sarah Everard’s abduction, rape and murder last year by an acting official and repeated scandals of misconduct had a “chilling effect on public confidence and trust”. However, a recent full force inspection has led to a shift to special measures that will put additional control over Met and require its management to draw up an adjustment plan.
