Manitoulin Health Center
LITTLE CURRENT — Manitoulin Health Center (MHC) has announced an outbreak of COVID-19 in our inpatient unit at the Little Current site. According to the Public Health Service, an outbreak is declared when two or more patients test positive for COVID-19.
Effective immediately, visits to the Little Current inpatient unit will be suspended except for immediate family for palliative care patients, for minor patients (under 18 years of age) and obstetrics. The emergency department remains open for emergencies only.
Please note that due to increased spread of COVID-19 in the community, we are resuming active screening of entrances at the Little Current and Mindemoya sites. All persons attending MHC must wear a mask at all times. If you arrive on site wearing a cloth mask, you will be asked to exchange it for an MHC-issued mask.
MHC staff and management would like to remind the public to remain calm. We must be diligent to follow the guidelines set by public health. If you are eligible for a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, please visit Public Health Sudbury & Districts for information on local vaccine clinics.
