Michigan woman Tyrani Savage, three relatives dead after being denied a spousal protection order

A Michigan woman and three relatives died in an apparent triple murder-suicide after she was denied a protective order for her husband — who was among the dead, according to police and a news report.

Tyrani Savage, 35, her 13-year-old son Dayton Cowdrey, her mother Kim Lynette Ebright, 58, and Beau Eugene Savage, 35, were found dead before dawn Sunday in a home from gunshot wounds to the head, authorities said.

“All subjects involved had known connections and the incident is being investigated as a murder/suicide,” Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release on Monday.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the many friends and families who are devastated by this loss.”

It has not been confirmed who the shooter was, but weeks before the tragic turn of events, Tyrani Savage had filed for a personal protection order against her husband, Beau Eugene, according to TV station WPBM. But it was denied by a judge.

She has also reportedly started divorce proceedings with him.

Tyrani Savage said in the order of protection that her husband, Bo Eugene Savage (right), had mental health issues and had recently purchased a firearm. Facebook

Tyrani Savage sought a personal protection order against her husband on June 24, writing, “He has mental health issues and recently purchased a firearm and that worries me,” WPBM reported, citing court documents.

“He keeps saying he’s going to blow his brains out and I don’t want my safety or my son’s safety at risk.”

But that offer was rejected by a judge who told her she could seek a restraining order in divorce court, the paper reported.

“Insufficient evidence to show immediate and irreparable injury, loss or damage. A petitioner may request a restraining order in a divorce case,” the judge wrote, according to WPBM.

Tyrani Savage could have requested a hearing because she was denied, but it’s unclear if she did, according to WPBM, citing court documents.

Three days before her violent death, she filed for divorce, WPBM reported.

The judge, identified by NBC News as Troy Daniel, did not return a request for comment when the news outlet contacted his campaign Wednesday evening.
