The family of a 20-year-old man who died in a crash in southeastern Calgary on Tuesday has arrived in the city and is seeking support to help move his remains home to Ontario.
GoFundMe launches campaign for the family of Mitchell Donohue, who died when police claimed a car driven by a 79-year-old man crossed the central median and crashed into Donohue’s Camaro, causing both vehicles to pass through a fence in Calgary’s backyard. .
Relatives said most of Donohue’s family lives in Peterborough and have raised about $ 10,000 so far to transport his body to his hometown and help his family financially.
The 79-year-old driver was seriously injured.
Police said speed seemed to be a factor and ruled out injury.
