A woman was left scratching her head after finding two house-shaped objects stuck to the wall in her new rental home.
Seeking advice, Ruth shared a series of images on a popular Australian Facebook group, but others were just as confused.
“I just moved into a new house. The previous owners were VERY organized (far more so than I am!) They had places, systems and nooks and crannies for everything,” she wrote.
“We can’t figure out what some of the things they installed are for.”
Seeking advice, Ruth shared pictures with a popular Australian Facebook group after she was left scratching her head over two house-shaped objects stuck to the wall in her new rental home (pictured). Many were quick to guess whether the item was a broom and umbrella holder or a dog leash holder, but both were incorrect
Ruth said the identical objects looked like “small plastic objects in the shape of a house” placed on the side of the refrigerator wall.
In the comments, many were quick to guess whether the item was a broom and umbrella holder or a dog leash holder, but both were incorrect.
After some investigation, another person said the products were key chains that once depicted two birds perched on the tiny houses.

After the target was discovered, others asked why the previous tenants had only taken the bird key chains and not the entire wall unit.
Ruth added: “There aren’t any birds among the keys they left.”
In the kitchen, she was also tripped by a strange device wedged under one of the cupboards.
Ruth described it as “a green flat thing with probably some sort of blade or metal on one side.”

Unlike the keychain, many knew the product was a jar opener or lid
Unlike the key ring, many knew exactly what the item was and the purpose it served.
Others online informed Ruth that the product was a jar or can opener and similar items could be purchased online today.
‘Thank you!!! Now I just need to figure out how it works,” Ruth wrote.

Shopper Amy, from Manly, posted a photo of the metal ornament on Facebook and asked if anyone knew what it was.
She showed a clip of the device – which has scissor-like handles – moving and showing a jagged edge.
“I saw this in the op shop today and I’m trying to figure out what it’s for because it looks like a torture device hahaha. Does anybody know?’ she wrote on the I Love To Op Shop Facebook group.
Dozens of people were quick to comment, suggesting it could be a cigar cutter, while others suggested it could be a more risque device like a sex toy.
However, others have correctly revealed that it is an egg knife, which is used to cut off the top of hard-boiled eggs.
