Montreal police are investigating two separate shootings that left two men injured

The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) is investigating two separate incidents in which men were shot overnight.

PICTURED ON THE MAIN

The latest incident happened around 3:20 a.m. Sunday after an argument between two men in their 20s on St. Laurent, near Milton St. in the Milton-Parc neighborhood.

“A 24-year-old man was reportedly hit by a firearm projectile following a verbal altercation. The suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired at the victim, who was transported to a hospital,” SPVM spokesman Raphael Bergeron said.

There are no fears for the life of the young man, who has serious injuries to his lower body.

The motives for the crime are not known. The suspect is also believed to be in his 20s.

SHOT OPENING THE DOOR

A few hours earlier, around 12:40 a.m., a little further west, a man came to his victim’s home on Boulevard Macdonald, in the Cote des Neiges district.

“A person knocked on the door of the victim’s apartment. The victim opened the door to his apartment and was shot in the lower body with a firearm,” Bergeron said.

The victim is a 34-year-old man. He was conscious when he was taken to the hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening despite the severity of his injuries.

Again, the motives for the crime are unknown.

The SPVM is investigating the two armed attacks.
