Moo Shu ice cream will be closed again on Canada Day this year to mark Canada’s attitude towards the indigenous population.
“We choose not to celebrate the ongoing colonization, oppression and genocide of the indigenous people of this land,” Moo Shu Ice Cream said in a social media post.
Instead, employees of the popular Ottawa ice cream business will spend the day with Anna Kot, Mike Diabo and other local knowledge buffs at Minobideg Learning.

Moo Shu will also remain closed on Saturday as a security measure for staff members due to the possibility of protests in downtown Ottawa over Canada Day weekend.
