Provincial police say a motorcycle rider was killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on crash just outside of Woodstock.
First responders were called to Gun’s Hill Road near 14 Oxford Road around 1:30 p.m.
Police said the motorcycle was traveling north on Gun’s Hill Road and a pickup truck was traveling south at the time of the collision.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle and his life is in danger.
The driver, who officials said was in his 30s, was later pronounced dead at a Woodstock hospital.
The OPP have yet to release their name.
The driver of the pickup was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
“To all our police officers, firefighters and paramedics who attended the scene today and especially the good Samaritans, the three off-duty nurses who tried to provide some life-saving measures, we just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for stopping and trying to help,” said I.D. Ed Sanchuk in a video on Twitter.
Gun’s Hill Road was reopened around 6:30 p.m
