MultiVersus Season 1 starts on August 15th after a short delay

The first season of MultiVersus, Warner Bros. a free-to-play crossover fighter in the style of Super Smash Bros., will now launch on August 15, developer Player First Games tweeted Thursday evening. The season was scheduled to begin on August 9, but the studio announced last week that the launch has been delayed.

Along with the season start date news, Player First Games announced that Rick and Morty’s Morty will be joining the MultiVersus roster on August 23rd; his arrival was also delayed last week. Player First Games also committed to adding “new modes and content” over the course of the season. Before season 1 was postponed, the Rick half of Rick and Morty was slated to be added sometime during the season, but it’s unclear if that’s still the case.

Quick note: Everything we bring you in Season 1 will not drop on the same day. New modes and content will be rolled out throughout the season. We will continue to share dates for all the fun things to come!
