The McDonald’s employee who was shot in the neck over cold fries is brain dead and on life support, prosecutors said Thursday, as a Brooklyn judge ordered the alleged attacker held without bail.
Michael Morgan, 20, is expected to face enhanced murder charges for Monday’s shooting in Bedford-Stuyvesant, in which he allegedly blew up victim Matthew Webb, 23, shortly after an argument over French fries served to the suspect’s mother , prosecutors said.
“Your honor, people are expecting a homicide charge in this case, given that the victim is currently on life support. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital and is brain dead,” Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Louis Paternina told Judge Inga O’Neill during Morgan’s arraignment on attempted murder charges.
“Now the family has to make the difficult decision [to take him off life support].”
Morgan, who was handcuffed behind his back, looked down during the brief procedure and did not speak.
Webb was working at the Fulton Street restaurant Monday night when Morgan’s mother, Lisa Fulmore, complained to workers that her fries were cold and asked to speak to a manager.
When the workers started laughing at her, Fulmore was FaceTiming with Morgan, who came into the restaurant and got into a fight with Webb that spilled onto the sidewalk.
Matthew Webb, the Brooklyn McDonald’s employee who was shot on the job, is brain dead and on medical equipment. Webb was allegedly shot by Michael Morgan over an argument involving his mother being served cold fries.
Morgan punched Webb in the face and when he stood up, he pulled out a gun and blasted Webb in the neck, prosecutors said.
The suspect’s girlfriend, Camelia Dunlap, has also been charged in connection with the case after she allegedly handed Morgan the gun before the shooting, prosecutors said.
Morgan was taken into custody at his home Monday night, and after hours of questioning, he confessed to the 2020 shooting and an unrelated slaying a few blocks from a McDonald’s that left Kevin Holloman, 28, dead, prosecutors said.
Holloman was outside a building on Herkimer Street with his cousin in October when Morgan allegedly fatally shot him, prosecutors said.

A few days earlier, Morgan’s cousin and Holloman had argued, and when the relative pulled out a knife to cut marijuana, the suspect ran from the apartment and started shooting, prosecutors said.
The cousin was not hit, but Holloman was hit three times and later died at Interfaith Hospital, prosecutors said.
“He was the sweetest kid. He wasn’t like these little thugs we run around here. He was so polite. He was always chasing girls. That was it. Chasing girls, pulling pranks,” Domingo Rivera, Holloman’s longtime former neighbor, told The Post on Thursday.
“[He] he was a good kid. He never got into trouble. He was always dancing and joking.”

Rivera, 57, referred to Holloman by his nickname “Caibo” and said that after he was killed, his mother soon became ill and died.
“I’m glad they caught him,” Rivera said of Morgan.
Holloman’s sister also celebrated the news in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
“The first person I wanted to call with this news was my mom and I couldn’t, I’m still heartbroken but glad me and my family got some peace,” she wrote with a series of green and white hearts emoticons.
Morgan has been charged with murder in the 2020 killing and is being held without bail in both cases. He is due back in court on August 8. Relatives of Morgan and Webb could not immediately be reached for comment.
