No Man’s Sky, the ambitious space epic of Hello Games, has finally secured a release date for Switch. The good news is that you won’t have to wait too long, as it will land both physically and digitally on October 7, 2022.

Originally debuting on the PS4 in 2016, the game was met with a decidedly mixed reception thanks to a number of shortcomings and some bold promises from the developer that failed to come true. In the years that followed, however, his overall reputation received a major boost thanks to numerous expansions and improvements.

It looks like these extensions will also make their way to the Switch version, including Foundation, Pathfinder, Companions, and more. This, of course, is great news, although it is anticipated that the game will not be played in VR, as the Switch does not have such capabilities beyond the rather limited Labo VR. Oh, good.

But look at this box!
