Netflix shared its One Piece series with live action, showing some of its amazing life-size pirate ship kits.
The two-minute video was presented by Inyaki Godoy (played by the main character Luffy) along with showrunners Steve Maeda and Matt Owens, before a concept art film was shown. The latest image – the Baratie Bar from the history of One Piece East Blue – has been downloaded to reveal the massive ship that is being built in real life, preserving every wacky, colorful detail of Eiichiro Oda’s manga.

Timelapse and subsequent videos show that Baratie Bar is being built piece by piece, from its giant fish-headed nose to the bar itself inside. A handful of other sets are also on display, including a rocking pirate city and brief glimpses of several other One Piece ships, including Miss Love Duck and Going Merry.
The creators explain that some of the kits took several weeks to build due to the required level of attention. The Baratie Bar is also surrounded by floating docks and is described as a “massive” location.
The series only started production in February and Netflix did not give any hint of a release date or window, so One Piece will probably not be released soon, although it was first announced in 2017 before being confirmed by Netflix in 2020
Along with Godoy as Luffy, McKenyu plays Roronoa Zorro, Emily Rudd plays Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson plays Usop, and Taz Skyler plays Sanji.
The cast also includes Morgan Davis as Kobe, Elijah Isorelis Paulino as Alvida, Aiden Scott as Helmepo, Jeff Ward as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong and Vincent Regan as Harp.
