Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested on May 28 after taking part in a night clash. Pelosi was trying to cross the SR-29 when his Porsche 2021 was hit by a 2014 jeep traveling north on the road, according to a report of a collision by a California road patrol. The vehicles “suffered severe damage in a collision”, according to a criminal complaint.
According to the report, the punishment for the criminal charges “includes up to five years of probation, a minimum of five days in prison, installation of a device to block the ignition, fines and fees, completion of a class for a drunk driver and other terms.”
The cabinet of the Speaker of the House of Representatives forwarded an inquiry to her husband’s spokesman, who declined to comment.
Pelosi completed sobriety tests at the time of the incident, “showing signs of injury,” according to a criminal complaint.
The criminal complaint states that the California Highway Patrol determined that Pelosi “was the immediate cause of the collision.”
“Based on the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim, the district attorney filed charges of a crime against Pelosi,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement Thursday.
Paul Pelosi, a native of San Francisco, has been married to Nancy Pelosi since 1963. They have five children.
