People asked to avoid part of Cardiff Bay as emergency services respond to chemical leaks – live

Emergency services are at the scene of the incident in Cardiff Bay. At 12 noon, South Wales police warned the public to stay away from Queen Alexandra’s dock as they deal with the incident.

In a subsequent statement, the forces said there had been a chemical leak at Queen Alexandra Doc and three people had been taken to hospital.

A South Wales police spokesman said: “South Wales police have been called in for reports of a chemical leak at Queen Alexandra Dock, Buttown. The fire service has dealt with the incident. Three people have been taken to hospital as a precaution.

“Please avoid the area and keep the windows and doors closed if you are in the Queen Alexandra Docks area. Please do not contact our control room in connection with this incident. “

The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has asked people living nearby to close their doors and windows in the dock area.
