Although the spotlight is firmly on the exciting Premier League title race between Manchester City and Liverpool, planning for the future is under way for Etihad and Anfield.
City tightened their grip on the top spot, beating Newcastle 5-0 on Sunday after the Reds were able to handle a 1-1 draw with Tottenham the day before. If each of them wins their remaining three games, as expected, the two giants will end the season with huge sums of 95 and 92 points, respectively.
The final is reminiscent of the captivating title race of the 2018/19 season, when City overtook Liverpool to the title by just one point with an incredible total of 98. This also raises questions about how long these two teams have played such delightful football can continue to dominate. the English – and the continental, to some extent – game.

The upcoming signing of Erling Haaland will only strengthen their star team, giving Pep Guardiola the obvious striker, which he sometimes missed this season.
The 21-year-old Haaland has scored a breathtaking goal 85 times in 89 games for Borussia Dortmund, and the defenders of the Premier League are probably trembling at the prospect of retaining the Norwegian fruit. Jurgen Klopp may also be worried about City’s transfer business for two reasons.
First, and most obviously, City will be an even stronger favorite to lift the league title in the 2022/23 campaign with Haaland in their ranks, regardless of how the last three games of this season will develop. The second reason Klopp and Co. are worried about Haaland’s arrival has to do with how it could affect Liverpool’s own ambitions in the transfer market. Although the Reds’ bosses don’t seem on the verge of breaking the summer tent bank – especially since Louis Diaz’s £ 50million arrival in January – they’ve been routinely linked to the miraculous Jude Bellingham of Dortmund in recent months.
The English midfielder, 18, is aiming for greatness, but Dortmund will not be reluctant to lose both of his most promising youngsters that summer, further reducing the likelihood of moving to Merseyside soon. So it seems that this is an advantage for City before the 2022/23 season, as they strengthened their team while weakening the hand of their closest rival in the transfer market.
