Peter Pan’s Arch in Rescue Rangers Compared to Bobby Driscoll’s Tragedy

The new film about Chip and Dale reveals a unlikely villain in the adult Peter Pan – an inner inclination to the real tragedy of the actor who voiced it years ago … which infuriated fans.

BTW, spoilers are coming … so be careful. Anyway, here’s what happens – everyone is buzzing about the movie “Rescue Rangers” on Disney +, which was seen by many as a spiritual sequel to “Who set up the Roger Rabbit?” … namely in the fact that mutons and humans unite.

So #ChipNDaleRescueRangers came out today. Let’s talk about Peter Pan’s disgusting portrayal as a villain

There are many cameos – most of whom are very aware and “meta” – but one, in particular, got a reaction … the boy who never grows up turns out to be the big bad.

Pan describes why he turned evil on the main characters at one point, describing how the studio kicked him to the curb when he got older and how he got tired. What is worrying – at least for many – is that this plot accurately reflects the fall of Bobby Driscoll.

Bobby Driscoll was the voice of Peter Pan and one of the children with Disney posters before being thrown out when he reached puberty. He died at the age of thirty-one from drugs and misery. And in this movie, they do THAT. That’s why I’ll never watch this damn movie. pic.twitter.com/9SpRsvqCDR

If you’re unfamiliar, BD was a child star, working with Disney a lot in the ’40s /’ 50s – he even played Peter in the classic animated hit and is said to have been the inspiration behind Pan’s appearance – but in the end account split with the studio and died young after falling into drugs and homelessness. He was even buried in the grave of an unidentified poor man.

Rumor has it that Bobby himself was preserved by Disney as soon as he reached puberty and is no longer wanted. At least that’s the urban legend … something that Disney itself seems to be hinting at and / or making fun of the elderly Pan in this new movie.

Well, the animated Peter Pan is a spitting image of a real-life actor as a child, and unless they had plastic surgery on a child in the ’50s, I’d say the most likely explanation is that yes, Peter Pan’s face is based on the actor who voiced it. pic.twitter.com/JYHkiNcOGj

Therein lies the controversy – people think it’s insanely disrespectful to dive into Driscoll’s story – intentionally or not – for a few laughs and punches in this Mouse House movie.

While you might argue that this is Disney mocking / criticizing its own supposed story when it comes to this dark knowledge … others find it unjustified to point out territory, especially since Driscoll may actually to have developed into a spiral as a result of how Disney treated him.

Aside from this seemingly ugly reference, people say that Rescue Rangers is actually quite good … and an outburst of nostalgia we haven’t seen in a while.

This is either a cold and soulless IP dump / flex … one or the other!
