Pfizer Inc. Vaccines and BioNTech SE, modified to target the Omicron variant, gave a significantly greater immune response than the currently available vaccine to the companies in the study, they said.
A modified booster dose targeted to Omicron specifically increased neutralizing antibody levels from 13.5 to 19.6 times higher than the current injection in volunteers in the study month after administration, depending on the dose, the companies announced on Saturday.
