RCMP say a brush fire in the Argentia/Placentia area of the Avalon Peninsula is now under control.
Police issued warnings shortly after 2pm on Sunday afternoon, asking the public to avoid the area of the Argentia Line and Placentia Junction.
Officials from the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture remain on site to target hotspots or fires.
Police also said access was no longer restricted and they had left the scene.
Firefighters faced the added challenge of mostly dry and windy conditions today.
The area is dotted with huts and summer houses, but it is unclear if any are at risk or if there is any damage.
It is not known what may have caused the fire.
