Police are investigating a possible child abduction on the Toronto subway system

Toronto police say they are hunting a man who may have kidnapped a child and put him on the Scarborough subway Friday night.

Const. of the Toronto Police. David Hopkinson says police were called after a man was seen carrying a child in a pushchair at Victoria Park tube station before 5pm

The TTC said suspended trains between Kennedy and McCowan stations were closed until 5:49 p.m. due to a “security-related incident.”

The man and child were last seen heading east on the subway toward Kennedy Station.

Officers later met with the man and child, Hopkinson said.

Neither party was injured.

Police said Friday that the child is two years old.
