Police are investigating a reported rape on the SEPTA train – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police are investigating a reported rape on a SEPTA train in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

A woman told police she was on a train on Broad Street at block 1200 on North Broad Street between Erie and Girard Avenue stations around 12:30 a.m. when she was raped by an unidentified person.

The special victim unit interrogates the woman while the police review the surveillance videos. No arrests have been made and police have not released a description of the suspects.

The alleged rape took place the same day a man was stabbed at a SEPTA station at University City. The stabbing took place at about 4.30 pm at the station on 34th Street and Market. The victim has a stab wound in the chest and is currently in stable condition. An arrest was made during the stabbing. Police have not yet revealed the identity of the suspect.
