Police are investigating the murder of Ajax CP24.com

An 83-year-old man is dead after being killed in Ajax on Monday afternoon, Durham regional police said.

Officials responded to a family dispute at the Griffiths Drive residence around 5:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, police said they found the victim without signs of life and with significant trauma.

More details about the incident were not reported.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and police are investigating the murder.

Police said a man had been arrested in connection with the case on Tuesday morning.

Ajax resident John Larter, 40, faces second-degree murder charges.

“The suspect and the victim know each other and the police believe that this is an isolated incident. “Homicide investigators and detectives have been called to the scene and are not looking for other suspects,” police said in a statement on Tuesday.
