Police in Peel Region plan to release more details about a brazen daytime attack on a media personality in Brampton last week that was caught on surveillance camera.
On August 4, Jyoti Singh Mann was getting into a jeep parked in his driveway when he was approached by a man with an axe.
Video footage obtained from the scene shows the sekij swinging the blade at the car’s driver’s side window after Mann closed the door, knocking the glass out of the frame.
Two other men join in, one armed with a machete.
They pull Mann from his vehicle, bring him to the end of the driveway and slash and slash him repeatedly.
The violence only ends when a woman identified as Mann’s mother leaves the home to render aid.
Mann is a real estate agent and media personality in Brampton.
A friend says he lost his big toe and the use of one hand in the attack and also received 25 stitches.
Mann hosts a podcast and his mother told CP24 he received a threat while recording a recent episode.
At 14:00 on Thursday afternoon the Peel Regional Police Service. Sean Gormley will talk about the incident with reporters.
Police are classifying the case as an attempted murder investigation.
