Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a resident of Port Moody, British Columbia, Trina Hunt.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said officers detained the man at a Port Moody home on Friday afternoon, but could not provide further details.
“At the moment, I cannot confirm the person’s name or identity, as no charges have been filed,” said a sergeant. David Lee, spokesman for IHIT.
A photo posted on social media shows police officers outside the deceased’s home in the Heritage Mountain area.
Trina Hunt was reported missing in January 2021, sparking a desperate search that ended when her remains were discovered months later in the Fraser Hope Valley community.
Despite the arrest, IHIT stressed that the investigation into Hunt’s death was ongoing.
“We would like anyone who has information to contact IHIT. The arrest is not the end of the investigation, “Lee said.
