The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge honored the royal tribute to Lillibet Mountbatten Windsor on her first birthday.
The daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrates her first birthday on Saturday, June 4, the third day of the platinum anniversary celebrations in honor of the baby’s great-grandmother, the queen she was named after.
On Twitter, Prince William and Kate Middleton posted an official birthday announcement via their joint Kensington Palace account.
“I wish Lilibet a very happy birthday, who turns one today!” The tweet read.
Prince Charles and Camilla also wished the baby a happy birthday through their Clarence House account, writing: “I wish Lilibet a very happy 1st birthday today!”
It was quickly followed by another tweet from the royal family’s official Twitter account.
“I wish Lilibet a very happy 1st birthday!” The tweet read.
Harry and Megan are in London for the platinum anniversary celebrations.
According to the royal commentator Omid Scoby, co-author of the biography of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “Finding Freedom”, the couple presented their youngest child to the Queen on Thursday.
However, he said the public should not be hopeful when it comes to how the couple will celebrate Lilibet’s birthday.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast on Friday, Scobie said: “I think people are expecting some big extravagant birthday event, from which we will see photos. We should not expect anything from what they told me.
“These moments with Lilibet are very personal between them and the queen, and of course we know how much she expected it.
“They were detained by a pandemic. Of course, when Harry was here, he was alone in rather grim cases. And that was really the first time. “
Scobie continued: “Of course we know that the Queen returned to Windsor Castle yesterday, the couple also returned to Windsor, where they stayed at Frogmore Cottage.
“So this would be the first moment or the first chance for her to meet her namesake.”
