Protesters are pushing for easier access to abortion outside of planned parenting in St. John’s

Protesters gathered in front of Planned Parenthood in St. John’s on Saturday afternoon to advocate for easier access to abortion.

The group was led by supporters of the election, with protesters carrying signs saying things like “my body, my choice” and “Abortion is healthcare”.

Nicki Baldwin, executive director of Planned Parenthood NL, says abortion is not easily accessible to anyone outside of St. John’s.

Baldwin says more suppliers are needed across the province. She believes that there is no reason why abortions cannot be made available in any hospital and that doctors should be able to prescribe abortion drugs.
