Before the release of the updated PS Plus in the next few weeks in different countries, Sony announced the first batch of games coming to the library with games available with PS Plus Extra and Premium.
These include some major recent releases from PlayStation Studios, such as Returnal, Ghost of Tsushima Definitive Edition, God of War, Death Stranding Definitive Edition, Destruction AllStars, Bloodborne, Demon’s Souls and others. Almost everything PlayStation Studios has released in the last decade has been featured, with the exception of newer releases from 2020 onwards.
As for third-party titles, players will have access to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Control Ultimate Edition, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Red Dead Redemption 2, NBA 2K22, Mortal Kombat 11 and more. You can see the full list, which includes other titles from multiple publishers on the PlayStation blog.
When it comes to retro titles, players will have access to some great titles, although the lineup is not as strong as some would like. While games such as Ape Escape, Siphon Filter and Super Stardust Portable have been introduced, most games have already released remasters such as Bioshock Remastered, Ape Escape 2 and the Jak and Daxter series.
PS3 games, available via streaming, help build the retro library, although you will have to contend with the speed of the Internet to play it. Some highlights include the original Demon’s Souls, the Motorstorm series, Infamous and Infamous 2, Puppeteer and Ratchet and Clank PS3 games.
In addition, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will have access to the following tests of the game at launch:
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (PS5)
- Horizon Forbidden West (PS5 / PS4)
- Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5)
- Farming Simulator 22 (PS5 / PS4)
- Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (PS5 / PS4)
- WWE 2K22 (PS5 / PS4)
Sony also says new games will be added to the game library in the middle of each month, while two new games will be available to all subscribers on the first Tuesday of each month.
It should be noted that this does not seem to be the full list, as more than 700 games will be included in PS Plus Extra and Premium, and some big names like Metal Gear are missing. Whether they will appear or not, we will find out after the updated PS Plus launches on May 24 in most Asian countries, on June 2 in Japan, on June 13 in North and South America and on June 23 in Europe and Oceania.
