PSA: PS Plus Extra, Premium games removed from the service are not yours to keep

We recently announced several games included in PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium, which will leave the service soon. This caused a bit of confusion, as many believed that the huge game libraries in the new levels would be available forever, as long as you stay subscribed and download them to your PS5 or PS4. To be perfectly clear, this is not the case.

If a game is removed from PS Plus Extra or Premium, it will no longer be available for play – even if you have requested it.

Sony confirmed this detail in its PS Blog guide to the new PS Plus, making the following statement: “Like PlayStation Now, if content is no longer available on PlayStation Plus, you will not have access to the titles when you leave the service.”

As the saying goes, PS Now worked on the same basis. Once a game was removed from the service, it became inaccessible even to those who downloaded or downloaded it. This is exactly the same for PS Plus Extra and Premium.

However, the PS Plus Essential monthly games, as well as the titles in the PS Plus collection, will remain available when they leave the service, as long as you add them to your library.

If you are still not sure how things are arranged, we would recommend you to follow our list of all PS Plus games. This page contains all the information you need for each game at all levels, including when to join and all upcoming expiration dates. There is also more information about all three levels of PS Plus, explained through the link.
