Two drinkers beat up a pub owner after a dispute over the love life of one of the men.
Kevin Keelan and Kai Finch pitted Martin Rowe at Monument Pub in Southport earlier this year. They hit and kicked him, put him in a corner, and one of them threw a glass at him during the January incident.
A judge in the Liverpool court today gave both men a second chance, as he decided not to throw them in jail.

Prosecutor Nardin Nemat said that 42-year-old Keelan and 21-year-old Finch were former colleagues and drank at the Monument on the night of January 15, 2022. Keelan was with a woman he had recently started dating after had been to the pub a few weeks earlier with his ex.
He was angry when Mr. Rowe, with whom he went to school, appeared to hint to the woman that he still had a girlfriend, and began arguing with him. Ms Nemat said Keelan hit Mr Rowe, then pushed him back before Finch began joining.
Other customers tried to stop the fight, but Keelan and Finch continued, pushing the landlord to the bathroom door. Finch threw a liter glass at Mr. Rowe, and then the two men kept hitting and kicking him before throwing tables and a bar stool.
Kielan and Finch were charged with assault and felony and pleaded guilty last month. Frank Dylan, representing Kiel, said his client, who has two convictions from more than a decade ago, deeply regrets the “ugly” incident.
He said: “I can rightly say that the behavior is uncharacteristic of this accused. Although it has a predecessor, it is insignificant and is now 17 or 18. “
Jacob Dyer, representing Finch, said the 21-year-old, who has no convictions, also regretted his actions, adding that it was at a “very low point” when his relationship had just ended and he had lost. your job.

All Mr. Rowe did was defend himself. Then you both attacked this man.
Finch of Salisbury Street, Southport, and Keelan of Cherry Road, Ainsdale, were sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for 12 months.
